We take pride in expediting the search for improved childhood cancer treatments, providing support to families in treatment, and assisting survivors dealing with late affects. We are partnered with the following organizations: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Hydrocephalus Association, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer, Beads of Courage, Men for the Cure, and Downtown Denver Partnership Leadership Program.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS)
LLS holds significant importance as a philanthropic endeavor for Sturges Financial Group. In 1998, a close childhood friend of Luke’s, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Witnessing his struggle and the profound effect it had on him and his family left and enduring impression. Today, Luke’s friend is thriving in both personal and professional aspects, enjoying good health. LLS funds blood cancer research contributing to groundbreaking scientific advances that benefit not only blood cancer patients but also individuals facing other cancers and diseases. In 2022, Luke was nominated to participate in the LLS Man & Women of Year to support blood cancer research among a group of dedicated individuals across the United States.
Hydrocephalus Association
Hydrocephalus is defined by an abnormal, excessive accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain. 2 out of every 1000 babies is affected by this condition. There is no known cure yet, however, the Hydrocephalus Association is actively searching for this cure. Luke and his team are proud supporters of this Association and the research to end this terrible condition. Sturges Financial Group shows their support at the annual Walk to End Hydrocephalus through a face-painting booth held during the event. We know that through this continued awareness, there will be a future with no hydrocephalus.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)
ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professional like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.
Beads of Courage
Beads of Courage is an art-in medicine program that helps kids with caner tell their unique treatment story through colorful beads that are symbols of their courage.
Men for the Cure
This is a foundation to raise awareness and support through the University of Colorado Hospital for the benefit of their patients and families battling breast cancer. There is a dinner held each year to raise money for the continued research and flight against this disease. Luke is an annual participant at this amazing event! To date, Men for the Cure has raised over $1.9 million to advance breast cancer research.
Downtown Denver Partnership Leadership Program
Since 1955, this partnership has strived to make Downtown Denver a little better every day. The Downtown Denver Partnership is dedicating to promoting Downtown Denver as a cleaner, safe, and more vibrant place. Luke is closely connected with the community leads to help tackle current issues head on that are facing our downtown communities.
